Dave is a 1999 graduate of Woodstock High School. While there Dave was a member of the 1997
State Championship football team. He went on to graduate from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse,
where he majored in Exercise and Sports Science with a concentration in Strength and Conditioning.
While at UW-L Dave competed in power lifting. He was a two time UW-L power lifting champion at 165
pound weight class, with personal bests of 335 pound bench, 435 pound squat and 525 deadlift. After
college Davis became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the NSCA.
Davis has been working with athletes in strength training and speed and agility since 1999.
Davis has worked with over 2000 athletes in the past 6 years of running Davis Speed Center. During
that time he has helped dozens of athletes earn D-1 scholarships and hundreds have gone on to play
D-2 or D-3 sports in college. Davis also works with a handful of professional football and baseball
players as well as Mixed Martial Arts fighters.
Davis has used his schooling, practical application, and past results to form all of Davis Speed Center's
speed and strength programs. He is a sought after speaker in the areas of sports performance and
nutrition. Multiple times per year Davis will speak to college students on the sports enhancement field.
On top of that Davis speaks to athletes and coaches at high schools around the area on proper
strength training techniques, off season workout planning, and nutritional guidelines.

Chris Leathers is a 2004 graduate of Johnsburg high school. While at JHS, Chris participated all four
years in football, basketball, and track and earned a total of eight Varsity letters. He currently holds
every single season receiving record including most touchdowns (18), most catches (74), and total
yards (1308).
Chris continued his football career at Carthage College in Kenosha, WI but put his career on hold
during his sophomore year to pursue his dream and passion of helping other athletes. Leathers, a
former client of Davis', fell in love with the speed training business and partnered with Davis to help
reach more athletes.
Leathers earned a degree in Business from Carthage (May 2009) but has been an understudy of Davis
since 2006. He has since used that time to become a certified personal trainer and Davis Speed
Center certified speed coach. Leathers has worked with hundreds of athletes in the past few years and
is best known for aggressive and motivational coaching.


Quint Zambon is a 1998 graduate of Crystal Lake Central High school where he was a four year
standout in both baseball and soccer and earned a total of 5 varsity letters. A two year captain of
Central’s soccer team, he led them to both a regional and sectional titl, while twice earning all
conference, all area, and honorable mention to all state honors. While Captaining Central’s baseball
team, Quint was an all conference and all area ballplayer. He put his baseball career on hold to focus
on a college soccer career. He continued his playing career at Indiana University-Purdue University
(IPFW) on a soccer scholarship where he was a two time Academic All American. In 2000, his team
finished #6 in the Nation for all of Division II soccer. He continued his education at Augustana College,
earning a bachelor of science in Business Administration in the summer of 2002. During this time,
Quint was a member to the 2-time Kick It State Champions and a national champion in the 3 v 3 soccer
classic.
After graduation, Quint turned his interest to fitness and personal training. Over the past four years
Quint has been training, consulting, and educating athletes from the youth to professional level on
areas ranging from nutrition to body building. He has worked with many local athletes, both presently
and in the past. Quint specializes in writing, building, and education on sport specific workouts;
implementation; and self motivation while exercising. He is currently in the process of earning his
Nutrition Specialist certification as well as his Sports Therapist certification.

Dave is a 2005 graduate of Cary Grove High School where he competed on the varsity levels in both
football and wrestling. After CGHS, Dave enrolled in McHenry County Colleges F.I.T Program (Fitness
Instructor Training), which revolves around training people of all walks of life, from young athletes to
the elderly. As a certified personal trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine, Dave
plans to deepen his studies/knowledge as an Exercise Science major at the University of Illinois-
Chicago.
In his spare time he volunteers at McHenry County College to train people from NISRA (Northern
Illinois Special Recreation Association) which is an organization that enriches people’s lives that suffer
from disabilities.
In addition to his passion to work with athletes in regards to speed and agility, he loves to train in the
weight room to help bring athletes to the next level. His enthusiastic attitude doesn’t stop outside of
the gym. He is often invited to speak to groups and local colleges about his commitment and passion
to physical fitness.

Ryan DeCraene is a 2005 graduate of Woodstock High School. While at Woodstock Ryan participated
in Football, Wrestling and Tennis. He was a two year starter on the varsity football team, a captain and
was voted most valuable lineman his junior and senior year. In tennis, he was a two year varsity starter
and took second in the Fox Valley Conference in doubles during his senior year.
Ryan went on to play football at Monmouth College, where he graduated with a degree in Physical
Education with a focus on personal training. During his time at Monmouth he trained many fellow
students and athletes.
Ryan has been trained by Davis Speed Center since its inception in 2003 and credits much of his
athletic success to the instruction he received during that time. His interest in becoming a personal
trainer stemmed as a result of the excellent training he received.
